Wenn Ihr noch keine Software zum Aufnehmen habt, könnt Ihr euch das kostenlose Audacity herunterladen

Wählt entweder die letzte stabile Version oder die neuere Beta. Die Betaversion stürzt meist häufiger ab, wer auf Nummer Sicher gehen will sollte also eher die ältere Version nehmen.

Ihr kommt nun zur Downloadseite:

Beim Anklicken werdet ihr auf die Sourceforge-Seite umgeleitet, wo der Download automatisch startet.

Nachdem die Software auf eurem Computer gespeichert ist, startet Ihr einfach das Installationsprogramm und folgt den einzelnen Schritten zur Installation. Anschließend könnt ihr Audacity wie jedes andere Programm starten.

Ihr braucht jetzt nur noch ein Mikrofon dass an eurem Computer angeschlossen ist. Wenn es bereits für Programme wie Skype, Second Life ® oder andere Anwendungen funktioniert, die eure Stimme aufnehmen, dann stehen die Chancen gut, dass Ihr nichts weiter verändern müsst. Jetzt klickt auf den roten Aufnahmeknopf um aufzunehmen:

Vergewissert euch, dass die Lautstärke hoch genug eingestellt ist, so dass ihr die Wellen sehen könnt. Wenn diese Wellen zu klein sind, versucht bitte die Lautstärke mit dem Schieberegler hochzustellen, wie im Bild zu sehen ist. Macht es aber nicht zu laut. Es sollte immer noch ein klein wenig Platz zwischen der Wellenform und dem oberen und unteren Rand bleiben.

Nach der Aufnahme drückt ihr den gelben Stop-Knopf. Spult nun zurück und hört euch an was ihr aufgenommen habt. Wenn ihr Hintergrundgeräusche hört, Rauschen oder Rumpeln, wollt ihr vielleicht die Aufnahme wiederholen. In diesem Fall könnt ihr mit STRG-A alles auswählen und mit der Entf.-Taste alles löschen. Danach fangt ihr einfach von vorn an, indem ihr wieder den roten Aufnahmeknopf drückt.

Wenn Ihr meint, dass die Aufnahme okay ist, dann speichert ihr sie als Ogg-Datei:

Speichern als Ogg ist die einfachste Methode die Aufnahme in eine kleine Datei zu speichern. Wenn ihr stattdessen WAV verwendet, werden die Dateien riesig groß und es ist schwierig sie per e-Mail zu versenden.

If you don’t have a recoding software already, download the free program Audacity.

You can choose the last stable version or the current beta version. The beta version is more likely to crash, so maybe to play it safe, use the older version instead.

You will then find the download page:

When you click on that link you will be redirected to the sourceforge page, where the download should start automatically:

After the software is on your computer’s harddisk, just start the installer and follow the installation process. You can then start Audacity from the Program menu.

The only thing you need, is your microphone plugged in. If it works on other applications like Skype, Second Life ® or other Applications that can pick up your voice, it’s very likely that you don’t need to change anything. Now you press the red record button to record:

Make sure your volume is loud enough so that you can see these waves. If the waves are too small, try to turn up the volume with the slider as shown in the picture. Don’t make it too loud. There should be a little bit free space between the waveform and the upper/lower border of the display.

After the recording, press the yellow stop button. Make sure you rewind and listen to your recording! If you hear background noises, hisses or bumps, you may want to start over and record a new take. In this case you can select all using CTRL-A and hit delete to remove all the recording. Then just start again by pressing the red record button.

If you find that the recording is okay, you just save it as Ogg-File:

Saving as Ogg is the easiest way to store the recording in a small file. If you use WAV instead, the files will be huge and it’s hard to send them via e-mail.

SlipStream Productions versteht sich als Modellprojekt. Wir wollen zeigen, was mit virtueller Produktion auch ohne fünfstelliges Budget möglich ist. Die Qualität der Episoden mag vielleicht noch nicht TV-tauglich sein, denn alle Beteiligten haben dieses Projekt lediglich in ihrer Freizeit produziert und kein Geld dafür erhalten. Das Team besteht jedoch aus Fachleuten aus vielen Bereichen, die z.T. auch im 1. Leben mit der Produktion von Filmen zu tun haben. Wir nutzen die Second Life© Software als Produktionsplattform, denn die Möglichkeiten, eigene Kulissen für einen Film virtuell zu bauen und dann mit virtuellen Schauspielern zu agieren, sind hier ohne großen Kostenaufwand gegeben. Hinzu kommt noch, dass die Second Life© Community auch direkt als Kommunikationsplattform dient, so dass Teambesprechungen während der Produktion problemlos möglich sind. Selbstverständlich steht unser SlipStream-Productions-Team auch für professionelle Videoproduktionen zur Verfügung.

SlipStream Productions is an experiment. We want to show what you can do with virtual movie production without a huge budget. The quality may not be suitable for TV or Hollywood, that’s because all team members work on this on their free time without pay. But the team do have specialists who already work in movie production. We are using the Second Life© software as production environment. Here we have lots of possibilities to build virtual sets and use virtual actors, without big expenses. Another advantage is, that the Second Life© community is also a platform for communication, so that we can use it for team meetings during the production. Our SlipStream-Productions Team is also available for professional video productions.

For Newbies in film production and/or virtual worlds, this will also be a good opportunity for “learning-by-doing”.
